The Sydney Science Fiction Film Festival and presentation partner the Midnight Double Feature podcast are thrilled to announce their 25th-anniversary screening of the sci-fi horror cult classic, Jason X. The special event will take place on Saturday, October 10, at 8:30 PM at EVENT Cinemas George Street, promising an unforgettable evening of Friday the 13th screen content for die-hard fans and franchise newcomers alike.
Fronted by popular Midnight Double Feature podcast host Zoheb Ali, the evening will be a fun pile-on of blood-soaked festivities, including trivia and giveaways, setting the stage for a night of interstellar carnage.
Beyond the anniversary presentation of the iconic space-slasher, attendees will be treated to exclusive franchise content, including the highly anticipated big-screen premiere of the trailer for Crystal Lake, the upcoming original series from STAN. Adding to the macabre lineup is a special screening of the chilling 2025 short film, Sweet Revenge, starring everyone’s favourite hockey-masked killer, ensuring a jam-packed night of cinematic thrills.
Fans are encouraged to dress to kill! Friday the 13th and horror-themed cosplay is warmly welcomed as part of the celebration. However, organizers politely request that attendees leave their machetes in their camper’s cabins—strictly no weapons (real or prop) will be permitted inside the cinema.
This one-night-only event is a must-attend for genre enthusiasts and horror hounds looking to celebrate the legacy of one of cinema's most unstoppable killers.
