MUBI announced streaming release date for Dea Kulumbegashvili's April

MUBI, the global film distributor, streaming service and production company, announces the streaming release date of April, the latest feature from acclaimed Georgian filmmaker Dea Kulumbegashvili (Beginning), arriving exclusively on MUBI in Australia from 29 August 2025.

Starring Ia Sukhitashvili, Nino Javakhishvili, Temiko Chichinadze and Giorgi Bochorishvili, April features cinematography by Arseni Khachaturan (Bones and All, The Idol, Beginning) and a score by Matthew Herbert (The Wonder). April had its World Premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize.

April will have its Australian Premiere at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) on August 19 2025, andis nominated for this year’s Bright Horizons film prize. MIFF’s Bright Horizons competition celebrates filmmakers on the ascent, featuring an extraordinary international line-up of first- and second-time filmmakers competing for one of the richest film prizes in the world – supported by VicScreen.
