Critically Acclaimed Sci-Fi Drama Star People Arrives on Digital Platforms Globally 27 March 2026

Blue Harbor Entertainment announced today that writer-director Adam Finberg’s sci-fi drama-thriller Star People will debut internationally on select digital platforms beginning March 27, including Apple TV in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa, and Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom.

On March 13, 1997, thousands of people across Arizona witnessed one of the largest mass UFO sightings in recorded history — a phenomenon now known as the Phoenix Lights. Inspired by that event, Star People, an atmospheric, character-driven sci-fi drama written and directed by Arizona native Adam Finberg, follows Claire (Kat Cunning), a photographer obsessed with her childhood UFO sighting. When a promising tip draws her deep into the desert during a deadly heatwave, accompanied by her troubled brother and opportunistic boyfriend, what begins as a relentless search for answers becomes something far more personal, as the mysteries above collide with fractured bonds below.

Last fall (2025), Star People was featured in The New York Times as one of its “Five Sci-Fi Films to Stream Now,” with the article praising the film and noting: “Star People is about the stories we need to tell ourselves to survive in an unsettled world.” The film holds an 80% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Star People had its World Premiere as an Official Selection of Dances With Films: LA on June 28 at the TCL Chinese Theatre, followed by a U.S. theatrical release on July 25 in New York, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, and a U.S. VOD release on August 12.

Star People marks Finberg’s narrative feature directorial debut and stars Kat Cunning (The DeuceOn Swift Horses), McCabe Slye (DestroyerFear Street Trilogy), Connor Paolo (The Last Stop in Yuma CountyGossip Girl), Eddie Martinez (The SinnerNight Swim), Bradley Fisher (Westworld), and Adriana Aluna Martinez (Duster).

Star People was produced by Adam Finberg and Josh Shader.
