PRESS RELEASE
The Perth Comedy Festival is serving up another round of international hilarity, teasing more of the big names set to hit the stage in 2026. From the quick wit of Stephen K Amos to the physical mayhem of The Umbilical Brothers, this lineup brings global comedy gold - including Colin Mochrie & Asad Mecci, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Chan Lok Tim, Joanne McNally, and Nurse Georgie Carroll.
Celebrating 25 years of mind-bending comedy brilliance, The Umbilical Brothers return to Perth with their award-winning show Speedmouse. The legendary Aussie duo – winners of BAFTAs, an Emmy and the Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performers – have dazzled audiences in over 40 countries with their signature blend of physical theatre, vocal wizardry and surreal humour. Now, they’re bringing the magic back home for an anniversary tour that promises pure, high-energy genius.
Next up, Canada’s Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) joins forces with master hypnotist Asad Mecci for HYPROV (pronounced hip-rawv) – the international sensation that’s sold-out theatres across Canada, the United States and the UK. Blending the art of hypnosis with the quick-fire brilliance of improv, HYPROV delivers a 90-minute experience that’s equal parts hilarious and mind-blowing. Described by Time Out New York as “hilarious and fascinating,” the show kicks off with Mecci inviting 20 volunteers on stage to be hypnotised, before the most responsive join Mochrie to perform the rest of the show – all while still under hypnosis.
Ireland’s comedy powerhouse Joanne McNally returns with her brand-new show Pintophile. Hailed by Variety as “One to Watch,” McNally has been delighting audiences with her brutally honest, wildly funny takes on modern life. In Pintophile, she’s back to overshare it all – single, still unfertilised, and armed with a fresh batch of irreverent, ridiculous, and laugh-out-loud war stories.
Love is in the air… and so is heartbreak. South Africa’s Schalk Bezuidenhout returns with his brand-new show Hey Hey Divorce – his first (and hopefully only) post-marriage confessional, filled with sharp wit, self-deprecating humour, and a dash of healing through laughter. On the flip side, Hong Kong’s Chan Lok Tim is heading toward the altar in his new Cantonese stand-up show Congratulations Good for You!, sharing the bizarre and hilarious encounters he and his fiancée – affectionately dubbed “the Scottish Princess” – have faced while planning their Hong Kong wedding.
Rounding out this latest announcement are two British comedy powerhouses guaranteed to keep audiences in stitches – the effortlessly charming Stephen K Amos and the brilliantly funny Nurse Georgie Carroll. London-based Amos returns with his trademark warmth, wit and whip-smart observations, while UK-born, Aussie-based Carroll brings her infectious energy and razor-sharp storytelling to the stage once more.
