A Haunting New Psychological Horror from Aboriginal Filmmaker Thibul Nettle
Wirra Distribution has unveiled the official theatrical poster for The Shadows of Trust, the upcoming psychological horror written and directed by Thibul Nettle.
The newly released artwork offers a first glimpse into a tense and unsettling story shaped by paranoia, fractured relationships, and the fragile nature of truth. With a moody and atmospheric design, the poster sets the tone for a film that explores what happens when trust begins to erode and long-buried secrets come to light.
The Shadows of Trust follows Phoebe and Alex Clarke (Sarah Jeavons and Thibul Nettle), whose quiet life in a secluded country home starts to unravel amid a series of disturbing events. As tensions rise, the arrival of a mysterious neighbour (Georgia Williams) threatens to expose hidden truths and push the couple to breaking point.
A tightly contained, character-driven thriller, the film leans into psychological tension and emotional stakes, offering a grounded yet gripping experience for audiences drawn to elevated genre storytelling.
The creative team behind The Shadows of Trust has previously released independent micro-budget features that have found audiences internationally across platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Tubi, and other digital services, building a growing reputation for delivering compelling low-budget genre films.
“Releasing the official poster is an exciting milestone for us,” said Travis Akbar, Wongutha man and Founder of Wirra Distribution. “This film represents a confident step forward for the team, and the poster really captures its tone, intimate, tense, and unsettling.”
Further announcements regarding release dates, trailers, and festival screenings will be made in the coming months.
