The Young Australian Film Festival (YAFF) is excited to launch an initiative that challenges young creatives to explore an exciting new medium of filmmaking; Vertical Filmmaking.
The YAFF 48 Hour Vertical Challenge invites young filmmakers to use the resources they have access to a create a 90-second short film whilst shooting in a Vertical Aspect Ratio.
The challenge will take place from Friday 6th of March, 5pm - Sunday 8th of March, 5pm (AEDT)
Teams will be provided with 3 Stimulus Items; a Prop, a Line of Dialogue and a genre. They will then have 48 hours to write, create & edit a film that incorporates these 3 elements, all within the 9:16 Aspect Ratio.
Finalist Films will be posted on the YAFF & Turtle Media Instagram pages, with the winning film being decided through the amount of Likes, Views and Reposts that the film receives within the span of a week.

YAFF will be collaborating with Esteemed Vertical Drama Production Company, Turtle Media to bring this challenge to life.
Headed by Selina Yurou Zhang and Daniel Chua, they produce globally acclaimed screen content that attracts over 130 million viewers.
The winning team's filmmakers will receive on-set experience with Turtle Media on their next upcoming Vertical Drama Series, filming around early April (Exact dates TBC)
