AIDC Awards Call for Submissions for 2024 Conference

The 4th annual AIDC Awards will return in 2024 to recognise outstanding completed works of new Australian documentary and factual content across six categories, with a presentation to be held on the closing night of AIDC 2024, Wednesday 6 March 2024, at ACMI in Melbourne.

Submissions are now being taken in the following categories:

  1. Best Feature Documentary
  2. Best Documentary/Factual Series
  3. Best Documentary/Factual Single
  4. Best Short-Form Documentary
  5. Best Audio Documentary ($3,000 cash prize presented by AFTRS)
  6. Best Interactive/Immersive Documentary

The AIDC Awards categories celebrate the talent and expertise of Australian content creators across long and short form documentary and factual content, as well as non-traditional areas of audio documentary and other forms of documentary storytelling through new and emerging media.

Best Interactive/Immersive Documentary

Night Creatures (2023), Gondwana (2022), Mt Resilience (2021)

AIDC CEO / Creative Director Natasha Gadd, said, “The AIDC Awards are one of the few industry- recognised awards for excellence in documentary and factual storytelling. Submissions for AIDC Awards categories are open now and will close Wednesday 8 November 2023 (or 15 November 2023 with late fee). Visit the AIDC website for more information regarding category criteria and guidelines and to submit a project.

Each category is assessed by an independent jury who are experts in their field. The 2024 AIDC Awards Presentation will take place on Wednesday 6 March 2024, the closing night of AIDC 2024.

A first look at the AIDC 2024 program, including the announcement of key international speakers and industry guests, will be released Wednesday 25 October 2023.
