PRESS RELEASE
A striking new addition to Australian independent cinema, Koko Crozier C Lily Lunder’s The Offing has unveiled its official trailer ahead of its international release later this year.
Inspired by true events, this psychological thriller film follows two girls who embark on a scenic coastal escape that spirals into chaos. Struggling to outrun their pasts, Neviah, a tormented recluse, and Freya, an enigmatic stranger, find their friendship tested at every turn, with all roads leading to a shocking revelation.
Created by first-time filmmakers, Lily Lunder and Koko Crozier (both 18 when the project began), The Offing is a stunning debut showcasing the collective power of young women behind the camera. With its raw and unflinching portrayal of girlhood and female agency, the film explores the realities of women’s lives - from periods and complex female friendships to sexual violence.
Set against the breathtaking landscapes of regional Australia, The Offing builds towards a devastating reckoning that forces both characters and viewers to confront the systems that failed them, while calling out those who abuse power and those who allow it to happen.
With its North American premiere set for October 10 on Amazon Prime, and Australian theatrical screenings rolling out this year, The Offing is poised to strike a chord with audiences around the world.\
