PRESS RELEASE

Australian filmmaker Yogi Devgan’s short film, A Silent Escape, is now available for streaming exclusively on Chaupal.

The 30-minute-long film, inspired by true events, stars Sardarni Preet, Rudi Devgan, Kiran Preet Kaur, and Arvind Kumar, and was produced by Mount Lofty Studios and Yogi Devgan Films.

A Silent Escape tells the story of a single mother named Harper (Preet) who travels back to India on a family holiday with her son, Oliver (Devgan). What begins as an exciting trip quickly spirals into a nightmare when their taxi driver abducts them, violently assaults Harper, and kidnaps her beloved son. Distraught but unwavering, Harper embarks on a relentless journey to find Oliver and uncover the truth.

Winning 22 awards around the globe – including Best Director and Best Film at the Bollywood International Film Festival (4th season) – A Silent Escape has now been released on Chaupal, the global streaming platform, which is available in over 244 countries including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

Director, Yogi Devgan, is proud to release A Silent Escape with Chaupal and share the film’s powerful story with a global audience.

“I believe short films should deliver a strong message and take you on a journey,” said Devgan.

“With A Silent Escape, we wanted to expose the horrific realities of crimes like sexual assault, kidnapping, and child trafficking – atrocities that, unfortunately, remain all too common in today’s world.

"By sharing this film, my hope is that it will spark critical conversations, raise awareness and encourage people to question the societies they live in.”
