The Undesirables Need Your Support – Check Out How You Can Help Here

PRESS RELEASE

Writer/Director Luke Agius and team have wrapped production on the heartfelt coming-of-age comedy/drama The Undesirables, and have released a first look video to go along with it! The film is set against the backdrop of the vibrant underground Western Sydney music scene, shooting on location at both Blacktown’s SWR 99.9 FM radio station and Penrith’s Elton Chong.

Starring Alexander Grant (Netflix’s Dive Club) and TikTok creator Molly McCrann (@Moldogaa)The Undesirables follows Ashton (Alexander Grant), who learns of the imminent global tour of his rockstar girlfriend, Casey (Georgie Cufone) and must convince her to stay or else risk losing her forever. As the night unfolds, Ashton, with the help of his best friend Leah (Molly McCrann), grapples with themes of love, life, change, and self-discovery in your twenties.

“I’ve worked in radio for over 7 years and I can definitely say the best conversations always happen off air. The Undesirables is inspired by a vulnerable time in my life where I only knew two things: heartbreak and radio, and for the past five years The Undesirables has been an emotional and creative outlet for me to express that.” says Agius.

The film also boasts an exciting and diverse supporting cast including Elle Dawe (SBS’ Housos), Sandy Sharma (Netflix’s Heartbreak High), Angharad Yeo (ABC’s Good Game: Spawn Point), Tommy Ropati (Stan’s Prosper), Georgie Cufone (Dead Girl Boogey), rising star Joshua Shediak and more. Writer/Director Luke Agius is also joined by co-writer/producer Matthew C. Vella, and producer Jodie Feeney. The Undesirables is made possible thanks to the support of the Blacktown City Creative Arts Fund, Bogan Apparel and is a co-production with Arts and Cultural Exchange (ACE).

The Undesirables recently launched a crowdfunding campaign mid-production to assist with post-production funds, and released a first-look video to go along with it. For those who want to help the film complete post-production, please consider donating here.
