Moonlight Cinema Offers Up Blockbusters, Family Fun And Plenty Of Romance This February

Moonlight is bringing a touch of romance to summer with their February program alongside a mix of classic Aussie movies, family films and the latest blockbuster flicks.

Whether you celebrate with your Valentine or ‘Galentines’, you won’t want to miss Moonlight Cinema’s ‘A Week of Romance’ from Wednesday 8th February – 15th February, featuring Rom-Com favourites like Notting Hill, 10 Things I Hate About You and Pretty Woman, plus a special preview screening of the final movie of the Magic Mike Franchise, Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

The February program also includes a range of the latest blockbusters including Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, M3GAN, James Cameron’s epic Avatar: The Way of Water, and a preview screening of Empire of Light. Audiences can also see classic Aussie favourites under the stars including The Castle and Muriel’s Wedding, thanks to Oz Lotto’s Big Aussie Fun screenings.

Pick up favourite movie snacks from the on-site kitchen and bar or BYO*, Moonlight Cinema is the perfect date night with that special someone, or night out with your family and friends. Dogs needn’t stay at home either**; Moonlight Cinema is dog-friendly at all locations apart from Perth. You can even hire pampered pooches a doggy bean-bed, thanks to Moonlight Cinema’s dog partner, K9 Natural.

Sundays just got a bit sweeter with ‘Singleton Sundays’! Moonlight will be hosting the Singleton Whisky cart in Melbourne before making its way up to Sydney in February. The cart will offer Guests refreshing cocktail samples on arrival and special offers on the official Moonlight summer cocktail.

Moonlight Cinema locations are within sprawling inner-city parklands around Australia and will continue to run throughout February and March in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, wrapping up on 19th February in Brisbane and Adelaide.

  • The Castle – 1st February (National) Aussie battler family fights city hall after being told they must vacate the family home to allow for an incoming airport.
  • Strictly Ballroom – 7th February (National) Baz Lurhmann’s Australian romantic comedy of two young people fighting for artistic freedom against ballroom dancing’s repressive regime.
  • Muriel’s Wedding – 15th February (National) Starring Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths, Muriel, a young social outcast steals money from her parents to finance a vacation of a lifetime where she hopes to find happiness, and perhaps love.

  • Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile – 4th February (National) Comedy musical featuring the voice of Shawn Mendes, of an unlikely friendship turned family bond.
  • Puss In Boots: The Last Wish – 18th February (National) Dreamworks’ animated adventure comedy follows Puss, voiced by Antonio Banderas, on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish.
