David O’Doherty, Jason Leong, Ismo and More Join The Stacked Perth Comedy Festival 23 Line-up

A bunch of international heavyweights, rising stars and comedy festival stalwarts have been added to the ’23 Perth Comedy Festival which promises one of the biggest line-ups of live comedy this town has seen in recent years. 
 
Much-loved award-winning comedian, author and musician David O’Doherty (IRE) returns with his Casio keyboard from 1986 for a performance of Tiny Piano Man on 28 April at the Regal Theatre.
 
Hot on the heels of his Netflix special Hashtag Blessed, doctor-turned-comedian Jason Leong (MY) gives us Brain Dead at the Astor on May 5. 
 
Scandinavian comedian Ismo (FI) pokes fun at language barriers with Watch your Language at the Rechabite Hall for two nights; 26 & 27 April. 
 
Lebanese/American stand-up comedian NEMR (LEBN/US) makes his long-awaited Australian debut at The Astor on May 5 & 6; credited with pioneering the stand-up comedy scene throughout the Middle East where he performs in English, NEMR grew up in San Diego and then moved back with his family in Lebanon. He went on to break down barriers and unite people in a region where bombing on stage can have a completely different meaning. 
 
One of India’s leading English stand-up comedians Daniel Fernandes (IND) brings his mix of observational, political and dark humour with a dash of social commentary with Infernal on May 5 at the Regal.
 
Popular South African stand-up comedian, TV personality and vlogger Alfred Adriaan (SA) delivers his highly anticipated laugh a minute show Unfit & Forty on May 6 at Planet Royale. 
 
One of the most exciting emerging acts on the Scottish comedy circuit Connor Burns (SCO) performs Live, Laugh, Loathe on April 24 at the Rechabite’s Goodwill Club. 
 
The English onslaught continues with the surrealist rantings of Paul Foot, thoughtful social satirist Alfie Brown, happy-to-lucky Geordie comedian Kai Humphries, quick witted comedian and novelist Mark Watson, and overachiever Josie Long who started performing as a stand-up comedian at the age of 14 and won the BBC New Comedy Awards at just 17. 
 
The Aussie contingent includes Andrew Hansen who is best known for being a member of The Chaser; comedian/actor/writer/former TV and radio presenter Lawrence Mooney; one of Australian comedy’s rising stars blending sharp wit with musings on his ethic background Anthony Locascio; comedian, collage artist and photographer Emma Holland who is one of the nation’s most refreshing original young talents; Chinese-Australian writer/comedian/food enthusiast with a love of word play Jennifer Wong; Indian born Queenslander Sandeep Totlani, popular Podcaster My Cousin Vlad; multi-award winning stand-up comedian Rhys Nicholson; the extremely relatable Troy Kinne; US-expat Mike Goldstein; and track-suit-wearing funny man Daniel Muggleton.
 
Perth locals include professional stockbroker by day/successful comedian by night Andrew Wolfe; comedian and marriage celebrant Daniel Delby; rising comic star sharing his personal journey as a refugee EMO Majok; and top class MC Grant Mushet
 
The Perth Comedy Festival also presents Kaye Hole – a brand new late night variety show hosted by Reuben Kaye featuring a rotating line-up of talent.
 
The Biggest Show on Earth mixed bags run from Thursday – Saturday, debuting at Planet Royale 4 -6 May and returning to The Rechabite; from 11 – 13 May and 18 – 20 May. 
 
The Perth Comedy Festival Showcase returns to our friends south of the river at Freo Social on Thursday 4 , 11 and 18 May. 
 
And this year the popular Perth Comedy Festival Gala’s will be held across three Wednesday’s in May! May 3, 10 & 17  at The Regal Theatre.
